Resolution 08

Presenting to you, the annual "i'm going to write up a resolution for the year then completely forget about it the next day" post.

1. Lose weight
Which I technically already have.. a tiny little teensy weensy bit and I really don't want to jinx it.

2. Study my arse off
I made a solemn promise to God (yes I have realised that I don't exactly believe in any particular one.. but you get what I mean) and more so to myself, that if I pass Philosophy 139, I WILL work my arse off next year.

3. Pick up yoga
Yes, I am joining the Uni Gym and taking up yoga next year.

4. Budget
I'm not too good with money. Enough said.

5. Achieve my three goals for next year.
Get an iPod Touch, make a trip to Aussie, get another pair of knee-high genuine leather boots.

6. Party
I just realised (well not just just) that I haven't done much clubbing or partying this year.

7. Socialise and expand my network
Networking is the key to success. Connections are importante.

Well, come the year end of 08, we shall see how I have fared in my resolutions. Likelyhood of me not keeping to any of it? 100%. lol

Ever had one of those?

Ever had one of those family members/extended family members (ie relatives) who can seem to do no wrong in the eyes of your parents (or in my case, grandparents)?

I have.

This devil recarnate takes the form of the youngest cousin in my father's generation. You see, as my family is huge (grandpa, the eldest in his generation, has 7 brothers and 4 sisters and thats not counting from his stepmom's side), there is inadvertently a huge age gap. My father is the eldest in his generation - 50+ in age and with two kids, one working and the other one already in tertiary education. The youngest in his generation is Joey. Joey is 17 and in high school.

Joey is a generally sweet, quiet, friendly girl as far as I can tell from attending those huge family gatherings. I have absolultely no bones to pick with her. In the eyes of my grandparents, she's an absolute darling. An angel sent from above. She can do no wrong. No wrong at all. They praise her to the heavens, place her on a pedestal, worship the grounds she treads - making the rest of us feel like incompetent, inefficient, useless idiots in comparison to her.

So when I found out today, that she was retained and had to do her 6th form, again, i felt a little snigger arise deep inside of me.

I know I sound like a bitch - gloating over her misfortune. But it made me feel slightly better about life. To know that even people who are "perfect" have flaws.

omg. shoes.

marc jacobs black bow wedged heels

i'm a girl *yes.. yes.. trust me to state the obvious* hence, you would think that shoes would be a very VERY important part of my entire existence. just like my clothes and accessories which my mum, my aunt, my boyfriend, and the rest of my guy friends constantly think i have too much of. however, contrary to popular believe, i DO NOT have many or even enough pairs of shoes.. heck, ALL the guys have more pairs of shoes than yours truly.

i have
- a pair of strapped heels i use for clubbing and formals
- my pink peace on black chucks (hi cut of course) which totally has a hole in my sole
- my 280 wedged black genuine leather boots
- my uber green billabong jandals (which i have totally sworn to throw up due to its.. deplorable state)
- my pink pair of wooden clogs

thats all. ask allan how many pairs of shoes HE has.. gargh!

therefore, this weekend, my mission was to get new pairs of shoes and sandals. however after two days of shopping with dad has brought me to nought. nothing. nada. zilch.

this WILL continue to haunt me until i find that elusive pair of footwear. rar! >.<

cooking mama

this is infuriating. i took a trip down into hp with my brother after dinner, full of hopes and dreams. i came home, full of shattered ones. cooking mama does NOT work on the japanese wii. it only works on the american one.
"AHHHHHHHHH" she cried.
the ONE game i wanted so much to play on the wii and it does not work. guess i will have to stick to playing my metal slug, dancing with the stars and rayman.
this is NOTTTTTT FAIRRRRRR.... *yes, i know i'm whining over something really pointless*
away to the kitchen she goes.

productivity

today, i had a semi productive/unproductive day.

meeting up with nicholas and colin for lunch = productive
colin breaking nick's cam over lunch = not so productive
buying my converse bag = productive that i finally decided which bag i wanted, not so productive that i wasn't supposed to shop for bags this summer
not finding and shoes/sandals i like even after prawling the whole of cs = not so productive
buying a black skinny tie = productive that i get to mark off something off my list
window shopping with wy and xy = productive girl bonding time
getting my pc fixed = productive!!!!!!
clocking dancing with the stars = hmm..... leaves much to be desired about my social life

tomorrow.. maybe tomorrow i will be more productive.. maybe.
maybe i will do some driving tomorrow
maybe i will find some shoes tomorrow
maybe i will do some reading tomorrow
maybe.

from blog hopping before, i noticed that everyone seems to have very deep meaningful posts.. posts that actually have a point to it. posts that oozes with interesting details and charm and charisma. posts that actually make sense. then i look at my own posts and i go -.-'' *bish*

the dell guy rocks!

Finally got my Dell fixed today.. They changed both the motherboard AND one of the RAMs for me... The guy totally got lost on his way to my place.. but he totally rocks! he saved my lappie! *yayness*

all i want for christmas is you

I don't want a lot for Christmas
There's just one thing I need
I don't care about the presents
Underneath the Christmas tree
I just want you for my own
More than you could ever know
Make my wish come true
All I want for Christmas is...
You

I don't want a lot for Christmas
There's just one thing I need
I don't care about the presents
Underneath the Christmas tree
I don't need to hang my stocking
There upon the fireplace
Santa Claus won't make me happy
With a toy on Christmas day
I just want you for my own
More than you could ever know
Make my wish come true
All I want for Christmas is you
You baby

I won't ask for much this Christmas
I don't even wish for snow
I'm just gonna keep on waiting
Underneath the mistletoe
I won't make a list and send it
To the North Pole for Saint Nick
I won't even stay awake to
Hear those magic reindeers click
'Cause I just want you here tonight
Holding on to me so tight
What more can I do
Baby all I want for Christmas is you
Ooh baby

All the lights are shining
So brightly everywhere
And the sound of children's
Laughter fills the air
And everyone is singing
I hear those sleigh bells ringing
Santa won't you bring me the one I really need
Won't you please bring my baby to me...

Oh I don't want a lot for Christmas
This is all I'm asking for
I just want to see my baby
Standing right outside my door
Oh I just want you for my own
More than you could ever know
Make my wish come true
Baby all I want for Christmas is...
You

All I want for Christmas is you... baby

lost voices

after a week of on/off sore throats and incessant coughing, i have finally lost my voice. i can only go as far as whispering.. thats about it. oh and squeak and croak. this was after 8 hours of talking laughing, giggling, reminiscing with xinyu, celine, weiyi and melissa! it was great fun! (not losing my voice.. catching up is). really should have just shut up at dinner when they told me to.. but noooo.. i HAD to continue talking. lol.

on a different note, i had my first krispy kreme ever about.. 40 minutes ago.. yes yes i know eating donuts while nursing a sore throat isnt the best idea ever. but it was sitting in the fridge just tempting me towards it.. many thanks to xin for flying them back for me! love ya! that donut despite it being fried, frozen, defrosted, refridgerated tasted like paradise. its no wonder why people swear by it. it tastes sooooo good!

on this note, i shall leave you and will at some point (hopefully when i have regained full use of my voicebox) continue to fill and entertain your lives with nuggets of insights into the fun filled adventures of fangi the fantabulous!

Yes, yes I know they are all girly, chicklit kinda books but hey, this is one of my guilty pleasures.. just like chocolates and clothes! ah! love!

So yeah, thats my plan this summer - to do reading. Lots of it. (like as if I don't do enough reading in the year as it is)
